This Information Largely Applies To Photographers Who Want To Proceed To Rent Their Own Personalised Photography Pro™ E-Commerce Website And Display Their Uploaded Images There.
If you upload images here for display on your own Photography Pro™ E-Commerce Website then you need to consider a watermark to prevent unlicensed usage of your images.
Although we've taken considerable steps to protect your images from anyone downloading them, there are still ways for computer savvy users to bypass our standard copyright protection and download the images that you upload - this applies to ANY website display of images.
It's true that we've gone beyond the norm with security of your images but an added protection is that all uploaded images have been reduced in density and reduced in width to 750 pixels; this makes them quite unsuitable to be printed by any means and results in very poor print quality.
However above and beyond all these methods of protection we offer you the opportunity to watermark all your uploaded images. You have a choice of methods:
- You can apply your own watermark to you images before you upload them using PhotoShop or some other software, or
- You can opt to have Photography Pro™ watermark each image that you upload here. As you upload, a large thin lined "cross" is applied to your image. This does not usually cover critical features of the image but it does make it almost impossible to print your image illegally. Your original images on your computer remain unchanged. You can see a standard example of that watermark below:

Most photographers prefer our method (the "cross" watermark) because it means that you don't have to keep two groups of identical images on your computer, half with watermarks and half without.
With our method, your originals remain unaffected and only the images uploaded to this site have the watermark.
Please note that you cannot remove a watermark or add one after an image is uploaded.
For your protection all images are watermarked using our method by default. If you order your own website you will have the option of no watermarks being applied during upload.
